│ 02 │ What does HS-USER do.. │ HS-USER 1.1 │
└──────┴────────────────────────────────────────────────────┴─────────────────┘
HS-USER will check your USERS.BBS for users with a subscription date equal to
todays date.
HS-USER will then change the data in USERS.BBS according to the values
found in the CTL-file. The number of up- and downloaded files, as well as
the amount of up- and downloaded Kb's can be reset to user-defined amount.
This to make sure that the user won't have a hard time getting a good ratio.
HS-USER will also write a message to the user that his/her security-level is
changed. You can also specify to let HS-USER check on 7 or 30 days before the
subscription date expires and write a message to the user that he/she has 7 or
30 days left.
HS-USER can write a netmail to the SysOp with the statistics of that run.
There is also an option to create a logfile. HS-USER uses your main AKA
specified in RACONFIG to write the messages.
HS-USER has 100% Multi-Language support.
Here's a little tip: If you let HS-USER run in your daily event, your userbase
will be checked only once per day and users will not receive duplicate messages.
┌──────┬────────────────────────────────────────────────────┬─────────────────┐
│ 03 │ Command-Line parameters of HS-USER │ HS-USER 1.1 │
└──────┴────────────────────────────────────────────────────┴─────────────────┘
HS-USER requires ONE parameters to function correctly:
The complete path and filename of the CTL-file to use. If the CTL file is in
the same directory as HS-USER.EXE, you can skip the path. A sample CTL-file is
included in this package.
┌──────┬────────────────────────────────────────────────────┬─────────────────┐
│ 04 │ What does HS-USER need │ HS-USER 1.1 │
└──────┴────────────────────────────────────────────────────┴─────────────────┘
HS-USER needs the RA environment to be specified in your AUTOEXEC.BAT.
HS-USER reads your CONFIG.RA for the path to your MsgBase and UserBase.
If HS-USER can not access your USERS.BBS, CONFIG.RA or Hudson Message Base,
it will do nothing and exit with an error.
┌──────┬────────────────────────────────────────────────────┬─────────────────┐
│ 05 │ The Multi-Language interface of HS-USER │ HS-USER 1.1 │
└──────┴────────────────────────────────────────────────────┴─────────────────┘
HS-USER can post messages according to the language-number that is found in the
userrecord in USERS.BBS. If the language-number is 1, HS-USER will look for
the corresponding filename but with the extension '1'. So if the filename found
in the CTL file is '30_DAYS', HS-USER will post the file '30_DAYS.1' to the
user.
If the file with the language-number as extension is not found, HS-USER will
always post the same file, but then with the extension 'MSG'. So if the file
'30_DAYS.1' is not found, the file '30_DAYS.MSG' will be posted to the user.
HS-USER will check to make sure the files exist, so don't worry.
